Hi! My name is AJ and I am a physics student at Orange Coast College. I have research and teaching experience, an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and a commitment to achieving excellence in my field.

In August 2024, I completed my work with UC Berkeley's Space Sciences Laboratory through the Advancing Space Sciences through Undergraduate Research Experience (ASSURE) program. I developed an algorithm to detect ‘Enhanced Aurora’ in preparation for a proposed rocket campaign that aims to make direct measurements of this phenomenon for the first time.

I have been leading K-12 astronomy field trips and presenting science-based shows to the public since March 2023 at the OCC Planetarium. My position as a lead presenter has solidified my devotion to serving and educating my community, especially groups that are underrepresented in STEM.

When not studying, I enjoy playing electric guitar, writing, reading, attempting to skateboard, and going to as many concerts as possible!
